Death of fun

Seems like the death of fun is coming right up.  That’s right.  My training has taken a turn for the worse and I have begun running….GASP!!!!!

Ok, it isn’t really that bad, but let’s say I do not have the body composition of running.  I’m just too big boned.  Yea, big boned, that’s what it is.

The last workout was kind of simple, go for a nice 20 minute run, nothing too shabby with that, but then the 20 second sprints up as steep of a hill I can find.  That is what gets to you.  So down to the rugby fields of North Conway for the jog, then the “Mud Bowl amphitheater” hill was what was used for the sprints.  Good times.

For the workout, I decided not to take any type of electronics with me.    First, I took Campy, so when I do anything with her, I don’t use an ipod or anything like that.  I like to hear where she is at.  Having no music, that always throws me off.  I didn’t take my GPS or heart rate monitor with me because I didn’t want to see how slow I ran, how little distance I actually covered and how high my heart rate actually was.  No need to see that type of embarrassment.  Just a stop watch so tell me when to stop.  It was actually pretty nice to not be tethered to anything electronic..

Tonight, another 30 minute run, some light pedaling and hopefully finishing up my cross bike….HUP HUP!!!
