Serious testing

Today’s schedule had me doing a lactate threshold test. Fun, fun stuff. Ok, easy enough I guess. A nice 20 minute warm up followed by 3 shorts bursts of rpms designed to get the heart rate up to par.

Then came the 20 minutes of all out effort.  To be honest, I think I could have gone a bit harder but I wanted to keep everything as steady as possible.  Race pace is a bit different for everyone.  I am used to going at a long steady state vs sprinting.  Hopefully, this will be enough quality data for coach to be able to do something with.

After the race pace effort, there was a nice follow up with a 40 minute cool down.  Pretty simple stuff.  I find this chart a little amusing.  You can see every time I stand up to stretch out on the rollers.  It seems like every 5 minutes ish or so I need to stand up to let blood flow back in and get feeling back….

On deck for tomorrow??  You guessed it, more snow.  They are expecting 6-10 inches of the white powdery stuff.  Someone tell me why I live in New England.
