A good ride on my steel steed

Today’s plan was to get out and ride and thats what I did.  I got up, took care of some things around the house with the dog, raked leaves for 2 hours and made some calls to go for a ride.

The ride started out at about 51 degrees and I think it went downhill from there.  But that doesn’t matter because I am out on my single speed cruising around on some killer single track and starting of one heck of an an advenure.  I say it didn’t matter about the temp until I got my feet wet.  Then it was a major concern of mine.  After that, the day saw me riding single track, double track, a train trestle,  a field crossing, some killer dirt jumps (yes, on a single speed 29er), a tour around the new high school (they have the coolest high ropes course set up for gym class…how awesome is that?), rode the high school’s new XC course, and some other good times.  I must say quite the ride that took about 3 hours to do.  I think that is the longest I have been on in a bit of time.  Hopefully tomorrow I can top that.  I learned some new trails and saw where some others were.  I think I will try the other ones.  I don’t think I can get lost, but its always a chance, which is why riding is always a great adventure….
