Back from a long trip…

After several days out on the road, I am finally home.  I do like traveling, but after a few days, it really makes me miss waking up in my own bed with the soon to be Mrs. lying next to me.  That plus those little bars of soap they give you at hotels suck.  Any who, it was a successful trip to the Fruita Fat Tire Festiva in Colorado, which had some amazing trails, of which I will post pictures of later, and also the Fontana Norba Nationals race out near Los Angles, California. But again, I am glad to be back.

Yesterday was a bit of a disapointment however.  I got home around noonish and quickly started on some tasks on my mind.  First was to begin a slow install of a speaker box in my jeep.  While looking at it, I noticed that it was build a tad incorrectly, so after talking to the builder, it will all be taken care of for me.  Strike one for the day.  Went down to my little workshop to begin the build on 2 bike frames that I now have parts for.  First one is a 29er bike and I quickly realized that I didn’t have have the things I need.  So I quit that project for a while before I threw something.  Strike two for the day.  Lastly, started the build on another frame and realized I didn’t have some of the tiniest pieces to make it a complete bike.  So I made myself a trusty list of what I would need for the builds and hopefully in the next few days I will get it all so I can get out and ride.  Either way, strike three for the day.  Time to call it quits and head to bed.  So that is what I did.  However, my internal clock is still all messed up so I went to bed around midnight and woke up at like 11 am.  I guess the lack of sleep on my red eye flight caught up to me.

And then this morning, I get an email from a team member for our Crank the Kanc event coming up in less than 2 weeks stating that the other member is now now able to race because he got a family events date all mixed up.  GREAT!!!!! STRIKE FOUR!!!!!  So this morning, I am scrolling through some names trying to find a replacement….good times had by all.
