I think Aerosmith said it best when they sang “I’m back in the saddle again…..I’m Back!!!” Today was my triumph return to biking. Here are the stats.
Activity: Cycling
Distance:33.62
Time:2:00:25
I think it was a good ride. I woke up in the morning with the temps near 37 degrees. That was good news. Then it started to snow and get colder. I thought, no worries, its still 9 am. Give it some time. By 1 o’clock, my scheduled start time, it was 51 degrees. Thank goodness. I headed out. Leave it up to New England weather to screw up a good day. By the time I was done, it was 20 degrees cooler and snowing. Either way, that didn’t break my spirit. Before the ride I was nervous because of my back being it was less than 2 weeks ago that I was not able to walk, so when I got on the bike and it hurt, I was dissapointed that I might have to cut things short. I pressed on and my back figured out that I was on the bike again and settled in for the afternoon. I think it was a quality ride for my first outside ride of the year with somewhat crappy weather. I am certainly excited to get out and ride the bike a whole lot more.
I used my Timex heart rate monitor and gps system on this trip. Yet again, I was disapointed with how it worked. Or shall I say how it didn’t work. The heart rate monitor works perfectly, but the gps system with it is no good. It seemed to be working and tracking for most of the ride, but when I connected it to my computer, it didn’t have half of the ride on it. I think it might be time to try out a different tracking system. Good thing I have my trusty Sigma Sports computer on the bike. If anyone is in the market for a new computer, check these guys out. They make killer products that are wicked easy to install.
