Being I didn’t get to ride yesterday because of the snow and cold, I decided to do a long workout on the trainer. All winter I have been staring at this workout, but didn’t really want to do it because of the length of it. Well, today I finally did Spinervals #13 Tough Love and I must say it is everything I thought it was going to be. All tough, no love. The workout is a few minutes under three hours, but I stayed on the bike for the extra time just so I can say I have been on my trainer for 3 hours. The worst thing is I still have a workout that is 5+ hours. I am a little afraid of that one.
This workout completely did me in. At around 1.5 hours, I really wanted to quit. I got my water bottles refilled with some Gatorade and that did give me a little kick for a little while. But around 1 hour left, I REALLY wanted to get off the bike. What kept me on it? Simple, I know some of my competors in the races I am planning on attending this year (at least the people I know, and I want to beat bad in the race) aren’t doing this kind of thing in the off season. That is what drives me. That is why I stayed on the bike.
