Tonight was the Spinervals #2, time trial special workout. I must say it certainly did a number on me. By the end of it, I couldn’t even ride the 3 minute cool down. I had to get off the bike and just lay on the floor. I was that tired. But that is what these workouts are supposed to do. Make you work. You only get out as much as you put in and I am giving it everything this off season. This is when you win the races. The amount of time you put in now directly effects how the season will go. So far this year, I have ridden 9 days out of 14 in January. I have never been this dedicated in the off season before.
On that note, I got a commuter bike ready to ride to work everyday. Each way to work is roughly 1.5 miles. That should take about 10 minutes each day. I figure what the heck. Tons of people commuter everyday by bike, and I am sure almost all of their commutes is longer than mine. I will try to commute every day that I can, but I am sure there are days my butt, legs and willpower won’t want me to. Days that is it pouring, days that is it in the negative degrees, days that everything just hurts too much. Those are the days I will drive. Call me a sissy, but everyman has his limits. Plus I don’t to sit at work wet all day.
