Some complications

Activity-running
Time-28.18
Distance-5k

Well the complications is from all the technology that I am trying to use and am to dumb to use correctly. I figured I could put my new GPS reciever from my Timex watch on my belt, but have my windbreaker cover it up as I ran. WRONG!! I got back and my watch stated I ran a total of .238 miles at a speed of 0.5 mph. Hrm, something seems a tad wrong. Tomorrow I will give it another shot, and try to put the reciever on my arm using the arm band that came with it.

On a side note, it felt weird to run again. Sure it has only been a few days, but it felt like I was going WAY slower (eventhough I was on pace) and the legs just felt like they didn’t know what to really do. But I pushed on and made it through another run. Hurray for me…

Just another day…

I haven’t posted in a day or so becuase there hasn’t been much to report. I drove for 9 hours on Tuesday, worked all day Wednesday including installing a new dryer for my house, and now Thursday is the same type of day. Tonight however might just be different. I got a new training watch system from Timex that should give me some great insight to my running and speed and such being it uses GPS to track and monitor everything. So tonight will be my first running with it and hopefully my times will be the same as they were as far as distances and paces and such.

a lost day

Nothing too exciting to post about today.  The weight loss bet I was in is finally over so I can actually have a rest day.  It is he first one in quite some time.  Unfortunately I will be using the rest day to drive over 8 hours from PA back to my house in NH.  I’m sure my legs will get a tad stiff sitting in the car for that long.

Plain old tired….

Activity-Running
Time-29.20
Distance-5k

I must say that I am getting rather tired.  So far this week I have ran over 15 miles, and biked 20 and thats only counting 5 days.  Tonight I started my running at about 10:30pm because of traveling across the state of Pa and having some good friends come and visit.  It is always nice to see people who I havent seen in a little while.  But now I am tired, and it is time for bed so I can get up and do it over again with a wrench thrown into the works.  Being I was not home for thanksgiving, my mom has decided to have thanksgiving on Sunday.  That will make 3 thanksgiving dinners I have attended in the past week.  Seems like I might need to hit the treadmill twice tomorrow…….

Improvement

Activity-running
Distance-4 miles
Time-38.23

Because of the holiday, I decided to add an extra mile to the run today. Not only did I add a mile, but I decreased my minute per mile average. I guess thats the point to all this training. It seems that it is actually paying off.

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Activity-Running
Time-32.05
Distance-5.8K

Just because it is a holiday doesn’t mean I can take a day off, so this morning I got up, put on m layers of clothing and headed out onto a course I was unfamiliar with. I basically ran from my fiance’s house to the local cemetery, did 2 laps and headed back to the house. The distance is a bit longer than I am used to and it was more hilly than normal, but I feel good about my effort.

Another Day, another workout

Today                             Yesterday
Activity-running                Cycling
Time-30 min                     56 min
Distance-3.5k                   18 miles

Yesterday was a rough day for me to get a post in.  I woke up at 6:30, went for a 18 mile bike ride in 27 degree temps, my waterbottle froze, came home and headed into work.  After working for several hours, I got in a car and drove back to my home town for the holidays, which took over 9 hours because of traffic.  This morning I woke up got on the treadmill and will drive another 6 hours to my fiances house to see her parents.  What a grand couple of days.  I plan on doing another little run tonight being my legs will get twitchy sitting in a car that long, so hopefully I will be able to add to this post later, but all depends on internet access.  My goal for the next week (until Tuesday morning) is to drop 10 lbs.  It won’t be easy, but thats what happens when a bunch of morons end a weight loss bet the week of thanksgiving.

Back to the running

Activity-running
Time-28.02
Distance-5k

After yesterdays little inncident with the road bike, I decided to run.  The legs were a little tight being it has been more then 3 days since I ran but over all I think the run went well considering some conditions of today.  First, I changed the oil in my fiance’s car, which means I have to jack up the car using the cars included scissor jack 2 times to get it on jack stands.  ThenI had to jack my jeep up to pull off a flattening tire off of that.  When I finally got out to run, it was about 38 degrees, and I really don’t enjoy putting on that much clothing to run.  But it is what needs to be done, so I did it.

Sad days are here again

Activity-cycling outside
Time- 10 minutes
Distance- about 3 miles
Sure it was a short time to ride, but let me explain. I got all suited up for the chillier weather, headed out on a new set of tires, and BLAMO, flat tire struck me. I mist admit, this was the first flat tire I have ever gotten on my road bike. I was a bit dissapointed. I emptied my little baggie and realized that I didn’t have my pump with me. Out came the trusty old cell phone. It took me several calls before I could find someone to come get me. When they dropped me off at my house, I didn’t have the heart to change the tire and head back out. It must have been a sign not to ride that day. Seems like the next workout will have to be double to make up for this.
